I conduct workshops and public speaking events in corporate and non-profit settings on trauma, vicarious trauma, self-care, workplace and personal wellness. Many of my workshops address issues relevant to living in a fast-paced, world with rising rates of chronic illness and pain conditions (long before COVID-19), food allergies and intolerances, and cost of medical care and insurance affecting all of our communities.
Trainings and speaking events are targeted to support medical and allied health professionals, hospitals, clinics, social service organizations, and others that serve traumatized populations, particularly those living with life-altering chronic illness / invisible disabilities. Previous trainings have included trauma-informed approaches to working with individuals living with chronic illness; preventing vicarious/secondary trauma and burnout and supporting self-care. Health and wellness workshops are targeted to organizations looking to support job and school attendance and increase productivity by empowering employees, students, and parents with information to proactively manage a wide variety of health and food issues and take charge of their own and their families’ health and well-being.
Additionally, I have contributed to articles on mental health and relationships for Forbes, Bustle, and Women's Health magazines. Please also see/listen to my interview with Guy McPherson, PhD on his The Trauma Therapist podcast.
